The Tailoring Techniques of Kenneth D. King
Tailored Jacket is an e-book documenting the process of creating a tailored jacket, from the cutting out to the finishing. With over 300 photos illustrating techniques in detail, the book covers among others
- Materials and tools
- Patternmaking to create the linings, facings, and other corollary pieces so that all pieces fit together perfectly
- Interlinings
- Complete construction of the garment, with "sidebars" at different points in the process. For example:
- The perfect way to ease a sleeve cap
- Constructing the notch lapel, as well as the shawl lapel.
- Handling uneven shoulders
- Constructing the lining, including installing the hidden lining pocket and piping

I'm grateful for my love of hand stitching. It sure is coming in handy now when doing all this couture techniques, in fact for regular garment sewing too.

Thank you so much for the giveaway. I'm planning on making a pea coat this year (my first attempt at a coat) from a very cool 70s pattern! I think this book would be an ideal 'tutor' for me as I think that all the techniques would apply to jacket or coat. I know it would be extremely useful so it would be just lovely to win this book.
