Embroidery Pintervention

Having started my embroidery class I could not resist but pin embroidery images on Pinterest. There are so many ideas, I can't wait to start with my own projects. A small embellishment for a skirt would be a good place to start. But until then, four more lessons to go. That is four more weeks :)

  3. First I thought that this would be very old-fashioned and a bit boring, but since you mentioned it I also see very pretty and interesting embellishments...... tempting (but very time-consuming I suppose??) and the examples you show here are also very pretty!!! It can really distinguish a garment WOUW

  5. Gorgeous, inspirational photos - you sure know how to sell embroidery to a gal! I like how they are all very urban and modern looking - very wearable :)

  6. For some more inspiration: check the lookbook for the new haute couture collection by Dutch designer Jan Taminiau. You will love the embroidery, beading and exquisite fabrics: swipe.to/couture2014. Absolutely beautiful!

  7. Frabjous has been an inspiration to me as I re-enter the world of serious sewing and now, embroidery (all the things I loved and did obsessively in adolescence) I was the girl in high school who embroidered everyone's jeans. I recently took several embroidery classes at Lill Street here in Chicago and I'm back on a tear. Not couture, but much loved is a book my ex-mother out law gave me in the 70's: Native Funk and Flash. Happy to see how much serious embroidery there is out there: Anna Teresa Barbosa, Daniel Kornrumpf, Mr. Xstitch. Embroidery was the gateway to Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/nzlola/embroidery-love/)
for me. Thanks for your blog.
